Zoneton Fire Protection District added 7 new photos.

On Monday 8/13/2018 Zoneton and Shepherdsville firefighters along with Bullitt County EMS and sheriff deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-65. The vehicle went off road, rolled over on its roof, trapping the driver who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

We blocked two of the lanes to create a safety buffer for the responders and to protect tire marks for investigation purposes. For a few moments all of the lanes were blocked because for a medical helicopter landing zone. Fortunately extrication of the victim went faster than anticipated and the helicopter was cancelled and one lane was re-opened.

There is a "golden hour" rule of thumb - getting accident victims to a medical facility within one hour of injury improves survival chances.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of those delayed by the traffic backup. We are always mindful and try to get traffic flowing again as quickly as possible. ... See MoreSee Less
